Harrison Bergeron was arrested "on suspicion of plotting to overthrow the government" at the young age of 14. He represents everything that the Handiccaper General is against. He is "a genius and an athlete, […] under-handicapped, and should be regarded as extremely dangerous" (Bergeron). He is tall, intelligent, and strong, everything that the current government forbides as it is very different from the norm of equality.

Harrison Bergeron is the teenage son of Gerorge and Hazel Bergeron.

Harrison represents teenage rebellion. He is an exeptional individual who raises up to rebel against the government. 

This government is bent on controlling each and every person.

And Harrison seems to represent the final stand against a tyrant government, a stand that, while powerful, does not work. 

Harrison’s assassination on live television means that the last, best hope, has failed and there is no longer any chance of escaping the laws of equality.
